About
The Atlas Corps Fellowship is a 12-18 month professional fellowship offered three times a year for nonprofit leaders from around the world. Fellows serve full-time at Host Organizations located either in the United States working on issues that complement their expertise. Fellows develop their leadership skills while sharing best practices and supplement daily knowledge with theoretical topics presented in the Atlas Corps Nonprofit Management Series.
Atlas Corps is an international network of nonprofit leaders and organizations that promotes innovation, cooperation, and solutions to address the world�s 21st century challenges. Their mission is to address critical social issues by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and promoting innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled nonprofit professionals. Atlas Corps engages leaders committed to the nonprofit sector in 12 to 18 month, professional fellowships at organizations to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global changemakers.
Eligibility
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in the nonprofit/NGO/social sector
- Bachelor�s degree or equivalent
- English proficiency (oral, writing, reading)
- 35 years or younger
- Applying to volunteer in a country other than where you are from
- Commitment to return to your home country after the 12-18 month fellowship

Scholarship
The US fellowship is a 12-18 month professional fellowship offered three times a year (January, May and September). Fellows volunteering in the U.S. will receive a living stipend. In Washington, DC, the living stipend is $15,636 annually. For other cities, the living stipend ranges from $13,000 to $20,000 annually based on the cost of living for each unique Fellowship host city. The stipend is sufficient to cover the basic living expenses of housing, food, and transportation for one person.
If Fellows end the program in good standing, they may receive an End of Service Award equal to $1,000. If the Fellow extends for an additional six months, the End of Service Award can increase to a total of $1,500.
Other benefits include reimbursement of visa fees; one week of orientation at the beginning of their Fellowship; placement for a full time, 50-week volunteer position at a U.S. nonprofit organization; basic health insurance plan in the U.S; and an economy class round-trip airline ticket from the Fellow�s home country to the Fellowship host city.
Application
They consider applications on a rolling basis. You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to be considered for one of the classes that begin in January, May, or September. Final decisions are made 4 -8 weeks before the class begins.
All applications need to be submitted online HERE . Atlas Corps requires two (up to three) letters of recommendation from individuals who know you in a professional capacity and can write about your skills and experiences as well as your potential for success as an Atlas Corps Fellow.
